Hunter's most recent original song, called "Papa's Tribute," is a song Hunter wrote for his grandfather, John C. Kammerman who passed away on May 29, 2011. All his grandchildren knew and referred to him endearingly as "Papa." He loved to listen to Hunter play the piano, even during the last part of his life at the hospital, and Hunter was privileged to be able to play for his grandfather several times there before he passed away. This picture aptly shows "Papa" listening to Hunter play, as he loved to do. One of "Papa's" favorites of Hunter's songs was "Freedom's Run," which is why Hunter chose to play it at the Springville Talent Festival and dedicate his performance to his grandfather (see the article in the Daily Herald).
Freedom's Run
Hunter recently performed his award winning composition, "Freedom's Run," at the Art City Talent Festival. This song won 1st place in region and 2nd place in state in the Inspiration's Contest, which is like the PTA's Reflections Contest. Hunter dedicated his performance to his grandfather (see above). Due to audience response at the talent festival, Hunter he played Jon Schmidt's "The Dumb Song" for an encore. Both numbers are included in the video below.

Thanks to some generous donations from some individuals and from Scholzen Products Company of Hurricane, Utah, Hunter was able to get some of his songs professionally recorded. Currently his album cover and inserts are going through the design process, after which his first CD will be released.
